Calling all aspiring writers! Join us in submitting your original work for our brand new writing contest apart of our Summer Reading Program.
This year, our contest theme is "Adventure Begins at Your Library," to coincide with our Summer Reading theme. We are accepting original work written by school age kids, teens and adults.
Submissions will not be accepted until Saturday, June 15.
Rules:
- Stories must be 500 words or less.
- By submitting your story to the contest, you are agreeing this is your own original work.
- You must use one of these adventure themed prompts as inspiration:
- You find a secret tunnel at the library.
- A mysterious stranger hands you a book titled, Lost Treasure
- Your story must be turned in by Friday, August 9 at 6 p.m. You can turn in your story to the front desk with an entry form attached, or submit it through this online form: Adventure Begins at Your Library Writing Contest
Entry forms for in person submissions can be picked up at the library or printed from the pdf attached on this page.
One winner in each Summer Reading age division will be selected to receive a prize for a total of 3 winners. Winners will have their stories posted on our website and social media channels.
