Description: Come learn about the volcanoes in the Pacific northwest, with a focus on our neighbors Mt. St. Helens (Loowit/Lawetlat'la), Mt. Adams (Pahto/Klickitat), and Mt. Hood (Wy'east).  We'll learn about how volcanoes work, the most recent Pacific Northwest eruptions, and how we monitor our local volcanoes  determine if they are waking up.  This activity will be a combination of short lecture elements, demonstrations, show-and-tell items, and some time at the end to try some hands-on activities.

Presenter: Emily Montgomery-Brown, Research Geophysicist - Geodesy. U.S.G.S. Cascades Volcano Observatory
