Event Details

Calling all aspiring heroes and curious minds! We're hosting a special event to introduce you to the exciting world of Dungeons & Dragons.

What to Expect:

  • Meet Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs, a D&D enthusiast himself!
  • Secretary Hobbs will present the Library with a brand new D&D set from Wizards of the Coast.
  • Get a taste of the game as Secretary Hobbs leads a sample D&D session.
  • Learn the basics of D&D: What it is, how to play, and why it's so popular.

What is Dungeons & Dragons?

Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is a cooperative storytelling game where you and your friends create characters and embark on adventures together. Imagine knights, wizards, elves, and dwarves venturing through perilous dungeons, facing off against monsters, and uncovering lost treasures.

D&D is about more than winning or losing. It's about creating a story together, using your imaginations to guide your characters' journeys. While dice and basic rules are involved, the most important tools you'll bring are your creativity and your thirst for adventure!

This special event will kick off future Tabletop Role Playing Games here at the library!
