Program Description

Event Details

Although the library will be closed on this date, we will be meeting outside in front of Camas City Hall, which is directly across from the library on the 4th Avenue side.

In this workshop, local photographer, Parielle Shapard will teach you useful compositional tools to enhance your everyday photography. The focus will be on artistry and not the technical aspects of photography. You will see more beauty in your environment and possibilities for creating satisfying images. The session will close with viewing photos taken by the group during the session. (Sharing is optional.)

Be prepared to make yourself comfortable walking outside with sunblock, water, or an umbrella depending on the weather.

This program is apart of our Nature Smart Library and was made possible due to a generous grant from the Camas Washougal Community Chest.

Where will this workshop take place?

We will begin in our community rooms upstairs at the Camas Library, then venture into downtown Camas by foot to shoot photos and ultimately return back to the library to review our work.

What is required to take this workshop?

Ahead of time, please download the Google Slides app on your phone. If you need assistance with this, please arrive 10 minutes early to the workshop or contact the library.

Do I need to have a photography background?

No background or experience in photography is necessary, however the understanding of how to use a smartphone or take photos with a smartphone is needed.

We strive to ensure our events are accessible to everyone. If you require special accommodations to join us, please call 360.834.4692 or email library@cityofcamas.us at least seven days before the event.
